Finally we came to our last stop before moving to Australia. After just one and a half day in Kuala Lumpur our long-awaited visa was approved. This also meant that we didn’t venture much about – instead a lot of practicalities kicked in. Like buying plane tickets, finding a place to stay in Sydney when we arrived, lining up inspections of possible places to live, looking at child care options in different neighborhoods, finding out where to buy a bike etc. etc.
It was lucky that we had checked in to a nice hotel apartment where the kids could play while we got everything ready to go to Australia. So our time in Kuala Lumpur was mainly spent inside – a bit different than we had planned. But just as good since it meant that Sydney was just around the corner. And from our 20. floor apartment we had the most amazing view of the KL skyline which we really enjoyed.
However, we did also go out into Kuala Lumpur. We visited a few areas, including Bangas with its many cafes and Bukit Bingtang with all its shopping. I even did some last minute (and much needed) shoe shopping before starting work realizing that flip flops might not be appropriate.
In one of the must see places, KLCC Park, there was a huge playground and splash pool for the kids which they loved.
We left Kuala Lumpur – and so Legoland Malaysia as well as the rest of the country will be waiting for us another time. Sydney, Australia here we come!
